Non-Harvard Educated Comedy Writer :(

Shelby Enlow is a native Hoosier and Chicago-trained comedy writer and performer who now lives in Los Angeles. Sometimes she writes dramas specifically for clout. She studied television writing and production at DePaul University, as well as improvisation at The Second City, iO Chicago, and The Groundlings. She misses Chicago every day and thinks it’s the best city in the world, even with all the Polish cops.

Shelby has been showrunner's assistant to Matt Murray at NBC for the last six years, sitting in on rooms like The Good Place, Sunnyside, and upcoming Netflix animated series Dang! She was a finalist for the 2022 Disney General Entertainment Writers Program, and advanced as a second rounder in the comedy teleplay and spec categories at the Austin Film Festival. She currently has a feature optioned with Zero Gravity and A Higher Standard, with Tiffany Haddish and Isla Fisher attached. Her music biopic about her favorite band of all time, The Chicks, also ranks in the top 1% of projects on The Black List website. Her aspirations include being staffed in a variety of cool, genre-bending rooms, and being the next respected writer from Indianapolis who blends satire, politics, and science fiction — like Kurt Vonnegut, but with poorer execution. Also, she aspires to carry lots of Boston Terriers in a bag at the Century City mall.

Shelby is formerly a contributor with ClickHole and Reductress. Finally, she plays the banjo, if you'd like to offer her a gig at Dollywood instead.
